Non Invasive Prenatal Screening NIPS

Early and accurate identification of disease-causing mutations in families "at risk" before birth. All monogenic diseases can be detected, even in the early stages of pregnancy.

About

Choosing the right testing strategy and a fast turnaround are key factors to minimize stress. For this reason, DIPLOIDE offers a very fast turnaround time for most prenatal analyses (known variants, deletion/duplication analysis or single gene sequencing) applying next generation sequencing (NGS) panels. In addition, our medical experts are always available for support before, during and after the analysis.

We perform prenatal genetic tests for all congenital and early onset diseases.

A simple, safe test

NIPS is a simple and safe test ordered by your health care provider. Since your blood also includes your baby's DNA, nothing more than a normal blood draw is needed. This test does not increase the risk of miscarriage, and results are usually available within 5 - 7 days after your sample arrives at our lab facilities in the United States of America.

The leading obstetrics and gynecology organization, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, recommends offering aneuploidy screening including noninvasive prenatal screening (NIPS) to all women, regardless of maternal age.

What are the potential results?

For most people, the tests provide a nice peace of mind, as they reveal that the risk of your baby having a genetic disease is low. Because boys and girls have different DNA, the test can also indicate the sex of your baby, but we will only tell you if you want to know.

If the results indicate an elevated risk for a genetic disease, your health care provider will perform a prenatal diagnostic test to confirm it. If that diagnostic test also gives a positive result, you may have options, such as early treatment and/or delivery options to improve your baby's health.

Testing with Invitae includes a comprehensive post-test session with a genetic counselor, who can answer any questions you have about your results and next steps.

Consider NIPS and carrier screening together.

You can't eliminate uncertainty in pregnancy, but with NIPS and carrier screening you can get closer. Make a difference in your pregnancy experience with genetic testing.

Curious about the cost?

Genetic information is important for all pregnancies. That's why we have made our NIPS tests more affordable than many other companies.
